Intro Letter
ASA Constitution

Dear Former Alumni Scholar,

You’re receiving this one time e-mail through the California Alumni Association of UC Berkeley, by not replying to this email, you will be removed from our contact list. The Alumni Scholars Association has had a long history dating back to 1934 with the first Alumni Leadership Scholarship recipients. Since then, other UC campuses have modeled their programs after what we started at UC Berkeley. The motto of the ASA is “Connecting Generations of Cal” and with the diverse array of outreach programs and campus events, ASA has done a great deal to connect the future and current scholars together. However, ASA still lacks strength when it comes to alumni programming and events.

For the first time, Alumni Scholars are gathering to form the new Alumni Scholars Alumni Association. In the last few years ASA has advanced by leaps and bounds establishing it as what may be the largest and most influential student organization on campus, and most financially secure organization on campus, with an estimate 1200 members and 750 current scholars in leadership positions all over campus. Furthermore, ASA has reached out to as much as 2400 students and parents of the Class of 2012 in the last 4 months and generated a revenue well over $50,000.

As the Executive Director of ASA for the last year, I have seen what Alumni Scholars are capable of. Imagine for a moment now what we can do together with over 10,000 Alumni Scholars who have graduated from Cal.

The California Alumni Association has 3 tiers of Alumni Groups. As part of the process of moving to the next tier, Alumni Scholars Alumni Association (ASAA) must complete at least 2 services to CAA/UCB, out of 7 categories; we intend to pursue activities in all 7 categories in an effort to bring ASAA to the top tier within 2 years. To do that, we need all the help we can get from former Alumni Scholars like you. Here’s how you can help:
